JIBC is recruiting for the following positions: 

Instructional Designer, Centre for Teaching, Learning & Innovation (CTLI), New Westminster Campus

This a full-time term position to August 31, 2019.   The Instructional Designer works collaboratively and with the support of divisional staff, CTLI staff, and others to design, develop and deliver strong and innovative technology-enhanced courses and programs for both internal and external stakeholders. She or he ensures that online and blended course certificates, diplomas and degrees development meet the academic standards required by JIBC and by the British Columbia public post-secondary education system. 

 The Instructional Designer performs project management duties and designs courses and programs using a range of applied teaching and learning strategies and technologies including simulations and emerging educational technologies. She or he may also participate on relevant internal and external committees pertaining to educational development and learning technologies.

Program Representative, Emergency Management Division (EMD), New Westminster Campus

This is a temporary full-time position until December 21, 2018.   The primary roles of this position are to provide administrative support for the delivery of EMD’s credentialed programs and to support the EMD’s overall marketing program.  Credentialed programs include the Emergency Management Certificate, Emergency Management Exercise Design Certificate, Bachelor of Emergency and Security Management Studies, and the Bachelor of Public Safety Administration. This includes providing administrative support to the certificate and degree program manager and the program director for program development and credential programs.

Sessional Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) Lead Instructor - Victoria Campus

The Health Sciences Division at the Justice Institute of British Columbia invites applications for the sessional employee position of Lead Instructor within the Medical Responder Program area, with primary responsibility for day-to-day classroom instruction within the Medical Responder program.  This position works collaboratively with the regional training coordinator, program managers, and program faculty and staff to ensure consistent delivery of program objectives and a proactive approach to instructional issues.

 The successful candidate will teach the Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) course. This position is based at the Victoria campus; however, the role may encompass travel to additional off-campus locations as required.

Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) Sessional Instructors - Chilliwack Campus

The Paramedic Academy at the Justice Institute of British Columbia invites applications from individuals interested in sessional employment as an Instructor for the Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) course at our Chilliwack Campus.

 We intend to fill this position from this posting through a selection process that will include submission of a resume and an interview process.  The sessional employee will be used on an “on-call, as needed” basis.

Casual Fire Technician, Fire and Safety Division, Maple Ridge Campus

The Casual Fire Technician position is primarily responsible for the maintenance and operational support of course delivery.    This position is physically demanding with the daily requirement of lifting, pulling, pushing, walking, climbing stairs, and carrying heavy equipment. The Fire Technician will support Live Fire training on a regular basis.

Sessional Instructor, Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) Program, Victoria Campus

The Health Sciences Division at the Justice Institute of British Columbia invites applications for the position of Sessional Instructor within the Primary Care Paramedic program. The Sessional PCP Instructor is part of a dynamic faculty team committed to delivering high quality instruction. Assistant, Events & Campaigns, Office of Development (full-time term to March 29, 2019)

Reporting to the Director, Office of Development (OD), the Assistant – Events and Campaigns is responsible for supporting the development and delivery of a range of fundraising activities and events for JIBC’s 40th Anniversary that are designed to increase donor and stakeholder engagement and revenue to support JIBC priorities. This term position focuses on events, in particular the Be the One Gala, and fundraising activities such as the JIBC Future 40 Campaign, to cultivate, acquire, renew and steward donors.

Senior Manager, Health, Safety and Emergency Management

The Senior Manager, Health, Safety and Emergency Management works at both the strategic and the operational level. The incumbent formulates and implements strategies which will enable JIBC to operationalize effective and integrated health, safety and emergency management programs. In addition, the Senior Manager ensures that the necessary policies, procedures and protocols are in place to effectively support these programs. The incumbent is also responsible for developing organizational capacity and implementing initiatives which help to foster an organizational culture that embraces health and safety and emergency preparedness across the organization.
